The Toddler Room tackles your child’s desire to become independent. ‘I’m not a little baby’ might be something you hear a lot. We support these feelings with activities that teach key skills, such as circle time, dressing skills, toilet training and shared mealtimes where we encourage your child to feed themselves. We focus this stage on purposeful play that lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
The Pre-School Room is designed to accommodate the fastest of the development phases. Your child will grow in confidence each day and gain skills across the board. Your child will need to be preparing for primary school life and the challenges they may face. You’ll want to know that when they come to starting school, they’re self-assured and raring to go. We plan our activities to reflect that. Each Pre-School room has a dedicated teaching area where your young ones enjoy small group sessions with our early years teachers. There are opportunities to learn at every turn, including early reading and maths skills, imaginative play and ICT. We introduce a little bit more structure to the day, along with other activities that reinforce the lessons. Baking is a great example of an immersive activity your child would do in this room which supports the early maths lessons they have begun.
For the final 12 months before your child starts school, we conduct our thought-out Prep-School Program. Through all the years of running these programmes, we have found that it ensures your child will be ready and excited for the day they leave to join reception class. Experiences include gym classes, road safety, drama classes, construction and woodwork, using public transport, stranger danger, trips to places of local interest, and so much more.
