We don’t aim to meet OFSTED requirements, we aim to exceed
them

Some see OFSTED requirements as the ultimate standard. We see them as the bare minimum, and always strive to go above and beyond.

OFSTED require:

Ratios of: Babies 1:3, Woddlers 1:3, Toddlers 1:4, Pre-School 1:13
1 first aid person
50% of staff qualified to NVQ Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE)
Supernumerary Manager (i.e. an extra team member in addition to the OFSTED ratios)
One Graduate Early Years Professional (EYP) or teacher by 2012.

Kids Allowed insist on:

One additional team member for each age group
The majority of the team have a paediatric first aid qualification
90% of staff being either qualified or in training with more than 50% to level 3 (A level)
Supernumerary Manager and a Deputy
We have always had at least one full time teacher and/or EYP as part of the team.

Each of our centres is registered with OFSTED under the National Standards for Daycare, and their registration certificate and details are displayed in the reception area. OFSTED carry out regular inspections to assess how we do things, and if we comply with their requirements, and you can read their reports here.
