Child and helper building towers with blocks

Allowed to soak it all up

There are opportunities to learn at every turn

Look at life through the eyes of a child and you see wonder everywhere. Even ordinary things hold extraordinary promise, and every little activity, from splodging with a paintbrush to splashing in a puddle helps children understand about the world around them and how it all works.

We look at every experience as an opportunity for learning, and we surround our children with interesting and stimulating materials and activities that help develop balance, confidence, motor skills, language, communication, maths; the list goes on…

Because children learn most effectively when they’re having fun, we focus on Learning through Purposeful Play, guiding, prompting, using open questions and encouraging them throughout the day. Each child is allowed to take things at their own pace, with their key person identifying each stage of their development and supporting them through every fascinating and exciting adventure.

Each room opens onto its own dedicated garden and is equipped with age-appropriate equipment of the highest quality, which is well maintained and replaced whenever necessary. Everything’s easy to reach and we build children’s independence by encouraging them to make their own choices. By giving them chances to work as an individual and as part of a group, we can also help build their self-confidence and promote social interaction.

One essential piece of kit in each room is a digital camera. The memories and achievements we capture are added to your child’s Learning Journey, which becomes a story of their time at Kids Allowed, and a memento to treasure for years to come.
